Whetū is the stunning second building in Ockham-Marutūāhu’s transformational Maungārongo project in Point Chevalier.

A 10-level red-brick building, Whetū has 77 apartments with ground-floor retail space. Like Kōanga, Whetū is built-to-rent and offers a range of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, all just 400m from Pt Chev Village and the beach.

The building, which takes design inspiration from Hotunui, the whare Runanga at Auckland War Memorial Museum, is set on one of busiest bus routes in the city and a short stroll to two train stations. Or, with the Northwestern cycleway  on your doorstep, the CBD could be just a 10-minute e-bike whizz away.

Not only that, Whetū is part an entirely new 11-hectare community called Maungārongo, which, in time, will include a supermarket, a swim club, a daycare, a commercial gym and a hospitality precinct centred around an array of beautiful communal spaces.
