While we’re at Level 3, Joss Lewis and Nick Reid from the sales team can ‘virtually’ take you through Kōkihi. With the aid of virtual tours and videos our ‘Zoom Queens’ can teleport you to your future apartment. Well, almost!

Our sales team - Virtual Virtuosos!

"It's great to see construction underway at Kokihi," says Joss Lewis from the sales team. "It's been a tough time for our city and we've had a few calls from people wondering what's happening with our developments."

Joss says that timelines are becoming clearer as the construction team — and contractors and suppliers — adjust to the requirements under Level 3. "The social distancing and split shifts are an additional challenge," she says. "But the team are fiercely focused and well-organised and have hit the ground running. And the project itself is in great shape. We're well-capitalised, we've sold three-quarters of the 95 apartments already, and we're intending to finish on time — Q3/Q4 next year."

Over the past few weeks, the Ockham sales team have 'taken' dozens of groups inside Kokihi via virtual viewings. "Our interactive walk-throughs really bring Kokihi to life," Joss says. "We've become fairly proficient on Zoom — the 'Zoom Queens' they call us — and this video shows what we can offer you under Level 3. And we did another video, just before lockdown, to help people visualise what the development will look like.

"So it's 'business as unusual' for us," Joss says. "When you've got a moment, give us a buzz — we'd love to hear from you. Please book an appointment online."

Meanwhile Ockham Construction return to work...

With Level 3 coming in at midnight on Monday 27 April, our crew spent the next day prepping sites, then resumed working in earnest on Wednesday 29 April.

"It's great to be back," says Will Deihl, General Manager at Ockham Construction. "It’s always a buzz to start a new project, especially one as special as Kōkihi in Waterview. We’re doing all the fun stuff at the moment — the digging, the trenching, the excavation. The hard yards.

Ockham Construction are currently working on two sites — Modal, the 33-unit all-rental development in Mt Albert, and Kokihi, our new 95-unit development in Waterview.

“We’re working with reduced numbers, splitting shifts, wearing PPE, practising social distancing," Will says. "Our workers’ health and safety is essential — and we’re also keenly aware of our responsibility to the greater community. We know we’ve got to do this right. And we will.

“It’s been a tough couple of months for everyone, humbling actually. For us, we’ve been reminded of the importance of our whānau, our communities and this city we love. It’s a privilege to be building for Auckland. We’re stoked to be back."
