47 apartments at Aroha were set aside for the KiwiBuild scheme. These included a number of one and two-bedroom options, and are currently all under contract
Are you eligible for KiwiBuild?
The government's KiwiBuild programme was set up to help more New Zealanders buy their own home. To be eligible for KiwiBuild you must:
- – be at least 18 years old
- – be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- – not currently own a home in New Zealand or abroad
- – have a pre-tax income from the previous 12 months of:
- — $120,000 or less for a single buyer; or
- — $180,000 or less combined for two (or more) buyers.
Once it's built, you're also required to live at your new KiwiBuild home for a certain period of time. KiwiBuild is targeted at owner-occupiers, not investors. There are a few more things in the fine print you should know – the government's KiwiBuild website has an Eligibility Criteria Guide which covers everything in detail, along with an excellent FAQs section which lays things out in straightforward Plain English. If you have any further questions for the KiwiBuild team, they have an 0800 enquiry line and general info email address.
Our KiwiBuild apartments
All our KiwiBuild apartments come with a balcony, double-glazed windows and a full appliance package (which includes an oven, induction cooktop, dishwasher, rangehood, washer/dryer combo and heat pump). Most also give you the option of buying an allocated undercover car park for an additional $60,000. Our KiwiBuilds will be sold on a first come, first served basis to KiwiBuild-qualified purchasers.
